2019 Board Elections

The nomination process to serve as Vice President for 2020-2021 will open May 16, 2019 .

If eligible and interested, you can become a nominee through the nomination process. The deadline for consideration is June 14, 2019.

The following positions are available to be filled by nomination and election:

  • VP of Governance (currently the VP of Administration)
  • VP of Membership
  • VP of Programs
  • VP of Volunteers
  • VP of Outreach

 

Key Dates

  • 04/24/19 - announce nomination process, nomination start date at April monthly meeting 
  • 04/25/19 - 05/16/19 - publicize the positions and responsibilities
  • 05/15/19 - bylaws ratification vote concludes
  • 05/16/19 -06/14/19 - accept nominations, committee will screen as they are received 
  • 06/21/19 - Provide final slate to board
  • 06/26/19 - announce ballot at June monthly member meeting
  • 06/27/19 - 07/26/19 – electronic vote by membership
  • 07/31/19 - announce results of election at July monthly meeting
  • August-Dec - transition and shadow current board

  2. Digital headshot photograph to be used if selected

The following apply to all board positions:

  • Membership and in good standing in the PMI and the Alamo PMI Chapter
  • Current with all PMI and Alamo PMI Chapter dues
  • Elected by the Alamo PMI membership
  • 2 year term
  • Attend monthly Board meetings and annual board training and strategic planning
  • Focus on continuous improvement of their functional areas
  • Build and support a team to manage the finctional area's activities 
  • Demonstrated understanding of the PMI Code of Ethics

 

An individual may not hold the same VP position for more than two consecutive terms nor more than four consecutive terms of elected service on the board.

Positions are staggered so that no more than five positions are elected each year.

VPs shall exercise accountability and responsibility on matters of governance and oversight in the best interest of the membership, ensuring that activities and decisions align with the Chapter charter, bylaws, vision, mission statements, and strategy.

VICE PRESIDENT OF GOVERNANCE (currently Vice President of Administration)

Responsible for all administrative functions addressing the needs of the Chapter to include maintaining business records, meeting minutes and enforcement of Chapter policies and bylaws.

VICE PRESIDENT OF MEMBERSHIP

Responsible for all membership functions addressing the needs of Chapter membership, including service delivery, recruiting and retaining members in accordance with Chapter policies and bylaws.

VICE PRESIDENT OF PROGRAMS

Responsible for all program functions addressing the needs of the Chapter including monthly dinner meetings, special events, seminars, and meeting sponsors in accordance with Chapter policies and bylaws.  

VICE PRESIDENT OF VOLUNTEERS

Responsible for all volunteer functions addressing the needs of the Chapter volunteers, including recruitment, retention, recognition and leadership development training and support in accordance with Chapter policies and bylaws.

VICE PRESIDENT OF OUTREACH

Responsible for all outreach functions addressing the needs of the Chapter including educational engagement, corporate and community activities and satellite locations operations in accordance with Chapter policies and bylaws.
